All the main Greek banks i.e National Bank of Greece, Alpha Bank, Eurobank, Piraeus Bank, etc. have branches and ATM machines on the island.

Banks are open from Monday to Friday between the hours of 8am and 2pm. Some Branches at the center of the City are also open in the afternoon Monday to Friday.

Visitors going to the Bank to exchange money into Euros or to cash traveler’s checks must remember to have their international passport with them. Since January 1st 2000, Greece has adopted the Euro as its national currency

Euro notes denominations: €500, €200, €100, €50, €20, €10 and €5 Euro

coins denominations: €2, €1, 50 cent, 20 cent, 10 cent, 5 cent, 2 cent and 1 cent.

There are 100 cent to €1
